Supported Employment & Vocational Programming

Building Skills, Confidence, and Meaningful Opportunities

At Affinity Ranch, Supported Employment is about more than work—it is about purpose, independence, and belonging.

As the leading equine-assisted services campus in the South Metro area, we provide meaningful vocational experiences for individuals with differing abilities, helping them develop practical job skills, confidence, and greater independence in a supportive and inclusive environment.

Our Supported Employment program is designed to meet each individual where they are, while creating opportunities for growth through real work, real responsibility, and real community connection.

What We Offer: A Pathway to Purposeful Work

Supported Employment at Affinity Ranch provides individualized support for participants as they build the skills needed for success in the workplace and in daily life.

Participants engage in meaningful work experiences that may include:

  • Animal care and ranch responsibilities

  • Barn and facility tasks

  • Organization and routine-based work

  • Customer service and community-facing tasks

  • Pre-vocational skill development

Each experience is designed to help participants build confidence, responsibility, and a stronger sense of capability.

Our Approach: Real Work in a Supportive Environment

At Affinity Ranch, Supported Employment is grounded in the belief that every individual has strengths to contribute and the ability to grow through meaningful work.

Our program combines:

  • Individualized support

  • Hands-on learning

  • Consistent routines

  • Encouragement and accountability

Participants are supported by a caring team that helps them develop skills at their own pace while fostering independence over time.

Because the ranch is an active, engaging environment, participants have the opportunity to build both job readiness and life skills in a setting that feels purposeful and connected.

What Participants Gain

Supported Employment helps individuals grow in ways that extend far beyond the workplace.

Confidence & Independence

Participants build belief in their own abilities as they take on meaningful responsibilities and experience success.

Job Readiness Skills

Participants develop workplace habits such as:

  • Following directions

  • Completing tasks

  • Managing routines

  • Communicating appropriately

  • Working independently and as part of a team

Social & Communication Skills

The program encourages relationship-building, teamwork, and positive interactions with staff, peers, volunteers, and the broader community.

Routine & Responsibility

Regular participation helps individuals build structure, accountability, and a stronger sense of ownership in their work.

Belonging & Purpose

Perhaps most importantly, participants experience the dignity and fulfillment that comes from contributing in meaningful ways.

Who We Serve

Our Supported Employment program is designed for individuals with differing abilities who are ready to build vocational and life skills in a supportive setting.

This may include individuals with:

  • Intellectual and developmental disabilities

  • Autism spectrum disorders

  • Emotional or behavioral challenges

  • Barriers to traditional employment settings

We work to create opportunities that are person-centered, strengths-based, and developmentally appropriate.

Why Affinity Ranch

What makes Supported Employment at Affinity Ranch unique is the environment in which it takes place.

As part of a comprehensive equine-assisted services campus, participants are not simply completing tasks—they are becoming part of a larger community built on care, connection, and contribution.

Our ranch provides:

  • A structured yet engaging environment

  • Meaningful hands-on work opportunities

  • A supportive team invested in each participant’s growth

  • A place where individuals can build skills while also experiencing belonging

This is not busy work. It is purposeful work that helps individuals grow in confidence, capability, and independence.

A Team-Based Model

Each participant is supported through a collaborative approach that may include:

  • Program staff and job coaches

  • Families and caregivers

  • Community partners

  • Other providers involved in the participant’s care

This team-based model helps ensure that goals are meaningful, support is consistent, and progress is celebrated.
